MY MY MY. What a night! Each round continues to go higher and higher in the lord. Tonight we had the honorable pleasure of celebrating 2 phenomenal departments.
Our Music department under the leadership the Minister of Music Minister Cornelius Dole and Choir President Missionary Tamela McClinton; and our Youth department under the leadership of Youth President Elder Prince Reed and Chairlady Missionary Laurie Reed.
Just as we had a Holy Ghost filled time in our previous nights this night fell nothing short of magnificent.
The night started with an awesome testimony by Choir President, Missionary Tamela McClinton of God’s Miraculous intervention during the final stages of her recent pregnancy. God spared her life and her new born son from a situation that could have been fatal. The house erupted in uncontrollable, combustible and joyful praise!
Each department gave honorable mentions to faithful workers who had shown exceptional leadership in their respective departments.
The Youth Department hosted a Youth Spotlight. Young people were selected by their district to be recognized for their hard work in school, church and their everyday lives.
The Music department also presented the Officer of the Year award to Elder Charles Rodgers and an award of Appreciation to Brother Kendrick Harris for their hard work and dedication to the department.
The electrifying First Jurisdiction Youth Choir under the direction of Brother Christopher Hodges and Sister Lequita Peel continued to sing out of their hearts as they rendered joyful songs of praise.
Once again we were blessed to hear words of encouragement from our sainted Jurisdictional Supervisor Mother Shirley Hughes. Bishop Booker also greeted us, however when he was presented, the presence of God was so powerful, that he suspended his remarks and the sermonic solo and presented our speaker, Youth Chairlady Missionary Laurie Reed.
Missionary Reed spoke to the young and the young at heart and admonished us to establish a relationship with God, and most importantly establish a prayer life. She directed our attention to the story of the Shulamite Woman and Elisha found in 2 Kings 4 and spoke from the subject “All is Well”. She declared that whatever our situation may be, no matter how sensitive or great, God has not forgotten us nor our desires and all is well!
Missionary Reed ministered out of her heart and under the anointing of the Holy Ghost and later summons the youth for prayer. Young people flooded the altar and the center aisle, surrendering their issues, insecurities and hearts to the Lord. The power of God fell like a burning fire and the entire church erupted in worship. It was simply amazing!
After this powerful message, it was time to show love to our outstanding leaders who labor faithfully in the Music and Youth Departments.
